In Italy only licensed guides are allowed to lead tours.
These guides are highly qualified and the test that they take in order to receive their licence is very difficult. Besides having to specialize in at least one other language besides Italian, they are also proficient in art and Italian social history. Italian Welcome uses only official licensed guides who speak English as a second language, thereby respecting and supporting local laws.
Italian Welcome has contact with guides in many major tourist cities. Often, tours can be arranged with little prior notice, although we prefer giving guides as much time as possible to prepare. Let us know when and where you would like to have a guided tour. Our guides can structure one to meet your interests or you can leave the itinerary entirely up to them – giving them “carte blanche” to show you their city the way they feel it ought to be seen and enjoyed.
