"Discovering the Collio wine region"
Enjoy a very special day in the Collio wine region of Italy. Famous for both its red and white wines, the region is untouched by tourism and offers a unique slice of Italian culture.
This private tour is available all year round
During our day, we will visit prestigious wineries that are renowned for both the high quality of their wines and the historical value of their estates.
As with all our wine tours, we tend not to visit too many wineries, but instead spend a longer time in those visited so that you can gain a better understanding of the wines tasted and the procedure of making them.
Among its wines, the Collio region features the Ribolla, the rare Picolit and the even rarer Pignolo, as well as Cabernet, Tocai, Sauvignon and Pinot Grigio to mention just a few.
The Collio has a bucolic charm, with its rolling hills thickly planted with vineyards, cherry trees and olive groves, all set against the back-drop of the imposing Friulian Alps.
After spending time in Venice, you'll enjoy discovering an area where you can feel like being the only tourists around. Enjoying the peace, tranquillity and natural beauty this area affords.
Between vineyards we'll drive along scenic back-roads that meander around the lush green hills, through peaceful villages and hamlets, and past the numerous castles that litter the countryside to savor the idyllic charm of this beautiful region. We'll cross the "ponte diavolo" to explore a medieval village that was once the Longabard capital of Italy.
And, of course, we won't forget to indulge a little in the local cuisine at a restaurant we have personally selected to enhance your experience of the Collio region of Italy.
